Evaluations This Saturday at NVLL

A reminder that evaluations are this Saturday, January 17 at NVLL. A second evaluation day will be held on Sunday, January 25. Your player only needs to attend one of the two days.

Here are answers to the four most common questions from our previous email:

  • 12 year olds were inadvertently omitted from the previous schedule, which has now been corrected below. Their evaluation will occur at 1:15 on both days.

  • Please use "league age" to determine your player's scheduled time. You can find your league age at the following link - http://bit.ly/1EZUBjp

  • Returning Major Division players who are already on a Major Division team do not need to attend evaluations (side note - there will be one final workout for returning Major Division players this Sunday, January 18 at 9am).
  • We will be accepting signups all day on Saturday, January 17 at the NVLL snack bar.

Evaluations Schedule

8:00 am                8 year olds
9:15 am                9 year olds

10:45 am              10 year olds

12:00 pm              11 year olds

1:15 pm                12 year olds
3:00 pm                7 Year olds

Evaluations Guidelines

  • All players 7 and up MUST attend one of the two January evaluations.

  • Drafts for Minor divisions and up occur in the first week of February.

  • 5-Pitch/ Farm will have one additional evaluation in early February. Date TBD

  • Softball, 50 / 70 and Junior baseball evaluations will happen in mid February. Date TBD

 Guidelines:

  • The purpose of evaluations is to match players into the correct divisions and to balance teams. Everyone will be placed on a team. Reinforcing that message may help to cut down on the butterflies that some players feel.

  • Please show 30 minutes prior to your scheduled evaluation time to stretch and warm up. Evaluations will begin promptly, so no time to do those things once underway. A proper warm up is a great way to positively influence a player's confidence and enjoyment of the evaluation.

  • Players should come dressed in baseball attire, with protective cup and cleats. Players will be fielding, throwing and hitting as age appropriate.

Any questions, please ask the your division coordinator:
